A note about Native American flutes - just as a "French horn" is a particular type of musical instrument, "Native American flute" refers to a particular type of musical instrument and does not imply that it was made by an enrolled member of a federally-recognized tribe. Although Odell's flutes are owned, used and endorsed by many prominent Native American musicians, High Spirits flutes are not "Native American made" as specified by the U.S. Government. If it is your desire to own a flute made by an enrolled member of a federally-recognized, US government approved Native American tribe, you can find flutemakers through a web search. So to summarize: according to the United States government, Odell does not make "Native American Flutes," but rather what the governments calls "Native American heritage flutes." Got it? Pretty much all such flutes, no matter who makes them, are "Native American style" flutes since there are very few flutes produced today that are done as they were 100 or more years ago, but you should be aware of the nuances.

I had thought about calling these the "concert flutes" because they are quite an impressive piece of work to have with you on stage and - as with all my flutes - they are precision-tuned.

I'll have more about these in days to come, but I wanted to show you
some of the first photos we've taken of my new Signature Flutes series.

It has been great fun and an inspiring challenge to take the
traditional elements of Native American flutes and add a new creative
dimension while also keeping with my goal to make each of my flutes a
precision instrument.
